Roasted Asparagus with Parmesan

A great way to increase vegetables in your diet!

1 pound fresh asparagus
1 teaspoon olive oil
pinch coarse salt
pinch freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Place asparagus in a pie plate and toss with olive oil.  Arrange stalks in a single layer on a nonstick baking sheet.  Roast in 400 degree F oven, 7 to 10 minutes for thin stalks, 15 to 20 minutes for thicker stalks, or until done al dente.  Season with salt and pepper.  Sprinkle with cheese.
