Joe says:

Watching your weight is a good way manage health risks. But a new study says that watching your waistline may be even more important - even if you are not overweight.

Seems that it is not just what you weigh that is a health issue, but wehere you store that excess body fat. People who store excess body fat in the abdomen - a potbelly -can have a higher risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, inflammation and high cholesterol. But now a new study of more than 48,000 man and 56,000 women suggests that abdominal fat can increasse the likelihood of dying.

So, how big is too big? Men are considered "abdominally obese" if their waist measurement is 40 inches or greater, women at 35 inches or greater. To check yourself, use a tape measure around your ewaist at the naval (no fair sucking in your gut!)
