Over the last few years, my blood glucose level has risen. My doctor says I'm "pre-diabetic." Should I be concerned?

Joe says:
More than 57 million Americans have pre-diabetes, a condition where blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not yet diabetes. I'd consider it a strong warning sign.
Normal fasting blood glucose is less than 100 mg/dL. Pre-diabetes is 100 - 125 mg/dL, and confirmed diabetes is 126 mg/dL or higher.
What can you do? Lose weight, exercise regularly, eat healthy and continue to work with your doctor. Often positive lifestyle changes can prevent the progression into full-blown diabetes.
