I saw recently on The Today Show that creases on the earlobes may indicate heart disease. Is this true?

Joe says:
Maybe. One study followed people under age 65, both with and without known heart disease, over a eight-year period. Those with diagonal earlobe creases had a higher rate of cardiac problems and procedures. The research suggested that the heart and earlobes may be supplied by similar kinds of blocked blood vessels. On the other hand, empiric experience has show that many people with known heart disease do not have this telltale characteristic. The bottom line? I'd pay less attention to my earlobes and more to my critical cardiac risk factor such as weight, blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, C-reactive protein and Metabolic Syndrome.
