Joe says:
Monday morning is a prime time for heart attacks to take place. That's because the stress of returning to work after the weekend can cause blood pressure to rise and increase heart rate. Mornings are also a time for peak levels of cortisol, a powerful stress hormone. Cortisol can cause a rupture of plaque that has built up in the coronary arteries. When that happens, cholesterol is released into the bloodstream and a clot can form that blocks bloodflow to the heart. Put all factors together and you have a perfect storm for a Monday morning heart attack.
