I try to eat fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C for heart health. Now I understand that they may help reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes as well. Is that right?

Joe says:
In a recent study of ten European countries, people who ate the most fruits and vegetables were 22% less likely to develop diabetes during the next 12 years. And those with the highest blood levels of vitamin C had about a 60% lower risk. The conclusion: Eating even a small quantity of fruits and vegetables is beneficial, and the protection against diabetes seems to increase progressively as more produce rich in vitamin C is consumed.
