I've adopted the Mediterranean diet since reading your books. I know that it is highly recommended for heart health, but does it have an effect on longevity as well?

Joe says:
Recent research has found that the Mediterranean diet has a great impact on longevity as well as heart health. A study published in the British Medical Journal found that the most significant effects on reduced mortality came from moderate and not excessive amounts of wine (particularly during meals), eating little meat, consuming lots of vegetables, eating fruit and nuts, and using olive oil as the main fat.
