Joe says:

I know what you are going through as I've faced multiple things that needed to be corrected. First, take a deep breath. There is no sense in getting stressed as it will only make the situation worse. When I'm stressed, I make bad food and exercise decisions. Next, refocus your thinking on what you are doing today. Forget about yesterday, its gone. And tomorrow is not yet here, so why worry about it. Do what you can do about living healthy today. If I were you, I'd start by trying to improve my exercise. Check first with your doctor to make sure there is no physical problem. Then go take a walk. Add a little time & intensity each day until you are doing at least 45 minutes at a brisk pace. This will help you to lose weight and lower blood pressure. And it will help to manage your stress, which in turn may bring down your CRP. Once you've been exercising a few weeks on a regular basis, take on your diet. Add veggies, fruit & whole grains, restrict saturated and trans fats, and consume cardioprotective foods like fish. I'd recommend that you read my book, THE ROAD TO A HEALTHY HEART RUNS THROUGH THE KITCHEN, for specific advice on setting up a healthy eating program. The main thing, however, is to make a commitment to live healthy today. Do it for your kids. That's what I do every day. Pretty soon your numbers come into line, and the days stretch out to months, then years. Good luck & let me know if I can help in any way.
